Color in all its beauty and wonder can bring about many different feelings and looks in the spaces and places that we use it. There is an obvious love and hate relationship with color of any kind and it is a very personal choice. Now when it comes to using color most people think that the larger the space the easier it is to pick colors and use them. While that may be true it can be an overwhelming task to choose colors in a large area. Right now we will talk about what it takes to use color in a small space in this day and age that is what most people have is small spaces. Small spaces these days are the norm and we all want to make our small spaces the best spaces they can be and the most effective way is to use color. Now there is the school of thought that you should only use light and neutral colors in a small space. The reason behind this thought is that most people think that if you use bright colors or dark colors in a small space you can make the space look even smaller. I want to tell you that it is not the colors that you use that makes this happen but it is how you use them that makes all of the difference in a small space. I want to share two ways in which you can use color in a small space and make it beautiful.

The first way is the most basic of ways and that is the use of color in paint. Now as discussed before it is not the color that you choose but it is how you use the color that makes the difference. When you are using color on your walls in a small space you can use a professional designer trick and use your chosen color as a pop in the room on one wall and it can be the largest wall in the room. Say for instance your small space is your bedroom you can put your color on the wall in which you place your bed and make it almost like a full color headboard. The second way in which to use color in your space is in the decorative objects that you use in your space. A more personal way to use color is in the choice of the fabrics and accent pieces that you have in your space. Let’s say for instance that you choose or have a neutral wall color like they have in most rental spaces. You then have to work around what you can’t change which is usually the wall color. In this case you choose your favorite colors and make your space sing with personality. In the case of a small living room you can have a neutral sofa and then add pops of color in your throw pillows and take a color from the pillows and pick your curtains and move on from that point. This is the type of technique that can allow you to change color with the seasons or with a particular event that you may be hosting in your small yet beautifully colorful space.

So I have given you two distinctly easy ways in which you can use color in a small space. Both of these ways will give you a great deal of color impact in your small space.
